The Methodist Church Nigeria Youth fellowship, Diocese of Owerri has concluded the second edition of her annual Mathematics competition for secondary school students.

The competition which started on Saturday, 24th November with the examination proper, for junior and senior secondary categories ended on Saturday, 1st December 2012 at Wesley Methodist Church Ikenegbu with award presentation to all participants and winners.

 

Speaking at the award presentation, the president of the fellowship, Bro. Obum Nwodo thanked the planning committee headed by Bro. Obinna Igbe and Bro. Onyebuchi Onura for doing a good job.

He also urged the participants to see the competition as a step into the bigger stage of their future.

Also speaking, the vice president, Bro Chinedu Nwadike, congratulated the participants for the courage they showed in taking Mathematics which he noted is every student’s nightmare.

Nwadike admonished the students to be good ambassadors of God, their families and country by being focused and of good conduct.

The award presentation which was part of the events marking the end of the year get-together of the fellowship saw Ezenagu Chinemerem, Nelson Chimdindu and Chukwu Dioma emerging 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively for the junior secondary category, while for the senior category, Awah Chukwudiadi, Nwaobi Lawrence and Odoemenam Chidimma took the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

Bro Owodo also thanked God for ending the year well for the fellowship and urged the students and members of the fellowship to pray for a successful 2013.
