Toluwanisings Dies at 41 as Family Confirms Gospel Singer’s Death

Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has died at the age of 41, according to a statement released by his family on social media.

In a statement posted on the singer’s Instagram page, the family announced that he had “said goodbye to the world” in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2026. They also asked fans and well-wishers to remember his wife, children and other family members in their prayers during the period of mourning.

The family said details of his burial arrangements would be announced later. The announcement followed widespread concern among fans after reports of his death began circulating on social media earlier on Wednesday, before the family confirmed the news.

Toluwanisings was known for his distinctive vocals and energetic praise performances, which often encouraged audience participation. His music earned him a following among gospel music lovers, with several of his songs becoming familiar titles within his audience.

His death comes months after he was reportedly involved in a road accident alongside members of his band. The report did not establish whether the earlier accident was connected to his death.

Tributes have continued to emerge from colleagues, fans and public figures following the family’s announcement. Prominent lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi and comedian Woli Agba were among those who reacted to the news, with Woli Agba having earlier appealed for prayers for the singer.

As fans mourn the gospel artiste, the family has asked for prayers and support for those closest to him. Further information about his funeral is expected to be released by the family in due course.
