The Imo Signage And Advertisement Agency (IMSAA) is set to start the enforcement on signage and advertisement violators in the state who are erecting advertisements without proper clearance from the state advertisement agency.

The agency warned that it is a violation of Imo State Signage And Advertisement Agency Establishment law No. 36 of 2019 for any one placing advertisements in the state be it in form of billboards or any other form, without the due clearance from the agency.

The agency noted that Mr. Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu is a notorious breaker of the advertisement establishment law as the records show that he erected 40 political campaign signage assets within Ideato North/South federal constituency without the requisite permit from the agency — IMSAA.

Reacting, the General Manager and CEO of the agency said that such unpatriotic acts were against the progress of the state as they are serious crimes of economic sabotage.

“This is a notice against unlawful placement of outdoor advertisement in billboards etc without following due process and complying with the state law. It is economic sabotage against internal revenue of the state.”

The IMSAA boss enjoined all concerned, most especially Ugochinyere who is a chronic law breaker, to follow the laid down procedures and processes towards obtaining the required permits for political campaign signage assets such as billboards, branded cars, etc as failure to do so will attract enforcement on the signage assets including removal and confiscation without further notice.
