Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, on Monday set a new record following his side’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifier 10-0 win against Sao Tome and Principe.

Super Eagles demolished Sao Tome, thanks to four goals from Victor Osimhen.

Moses Simon, Emmanuel Dennis, Ademola Lookman, Etebo and Moffi did score for Peseiro’s men.

The Super Eagles’ biggest scoreline before now was a 10-1 win against the Squirrels of Benin Republic in 1959 at the Kwame Nkrumah Cup.

Benin was still known as Dahomey at the time and the Super Eagles were known as the Red Devils then.

Nigeria had been drawn against Benin Republic, Togo, Cameroon and Fernando Po in the preliminary rounds of the Kwame Nkrumah Cup 63 years ago.
