Erik ten Hag has been advised to ensure that Cristiano Ronaldo finds a place in the Manchester United’s squad when the Ajax boss takes over at Old Trafford in the summer.

Erik ten Hag has been appointed the next permanent manager at Manchester United and will take over from Ralf Rangnick in the summer.

Ronaldo was the main man again for the Red Devils as he scored a goal (and also had one chalked off) in a 3-0 win over Brentford on Monday night.

And Chelsea legend Jason Cundy has urged the Ajax boss to find a way to work the superstar into his plans when he takes over at Old Trafford.

Cundy told talkSPORT that whilst United do need to bolster their attacking options, the new boss must still build his team around Ronaldo.

“If [Erik] Ten Hag is going to play the way he has done at Ajax, you would’ve thought that Ronaldo cannot play every single game,” he said.

“But then you find a way. His goals have been phenomenal again. His goals to game ratio is phenomenal, the greatest goal scorer ever.

“So you find a way to have Ronaldo in and around the squad. Whether he’s going to start 38 Premier League games I very much doubt, I can’t see that happening.

“United do need help up top, they do.”
