The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, has assured members of the public of a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitri celebration.

The Commissioner, in a statement through the command Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, on Friday ordered watertight security across the state before, during and after the celebrations.

Egbuka, who met with senior officers of the command in Lokoja charged all Area Commanders, Tactical and Operational Commanders as well as the Divisional Police Officers to beef up security within their areas of responsibility and to ensure massive deployment of patrol teams along the major highway and undercover operations to black spots, flashpoints, and other vulnerable criminal spots to nip in the bud all forms of crimes and criminality across the state.

While felicitating with Muslims on the occasion of 2022 Eid-el-Fitri, the statement added that “the Commissioner of Police reiterates the Command’s level of preparedness, determination and commitment in synergy with other security agencies in ensuring safety of lives and property”.

The statement however admonished the people of Kogi State to continue to collaborate with the security forces with credible and useful information on the activities of criminal elements in order to curtail their acts.
