What Imsu Needs is lecture facilities, not shopping malls/stores

A Facebook page  Imsu Nke Anyi has taken to its page to disclose a message it got early this morning as exciting.

The page stated it got a message on the demolition of some structures on the school premises of Imo State University Owerri and said it was a welcome development.

“Received a message on the demolition of illegal structures by Imo State Government (IMSG) through the Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA). These include; shopping malls, stores, and plazas at IMSU front gate and Extension gate axis”

“To me, it is a welcomed development. Apart from these structures being close to the road, they are also making the learning environment inconducive”

The page disclosed that it has been a difficult task for students to concentrate while in their lectures hall due to the noise distractions caused by the shops on the school premises.

“Several times during lecture periods, students find it hard to concentrate because of noises coming from business owners and traders at school gate axis”.

“From the Pre-degree block down to Engineering block becomes inconducive for learning because of the high level of noise”

ImsuNkeAnyi further stated the lands should be left as they are instead of giving it out to investors who will generate noise trading on it.

“Instead of giving these lands to investors to build shops and plazas, the government should leave it undeveloped to maintain a conducive learning environment”.

“The school needs comfortable Lecture halls, Departmental libraries, Laboratories, recreational centers, and the likes of them; not “THIS IS OKEYS COMMUNICATION: Come and charge your phone here, repair your phone here, download your music and buy your memory card” every lecture day”
