An IMO-born, American-based Facebook user identified as Roberto UwaraAja has taken to his Facebook page to argue that Owerri has no skit makers who are based in the state.
The businessman argued that Owerri does not have any skit maker that lives in Owerri that can go head to head with top skit makers from PH, Lagos, Warri, and Benin.
Making it obvious that Owerri has more stand-up comedians than skit makers.
“so guys I am currently having this argument, that Owerri does not have any skit maker that lives in Owerri that can go head to head with top skit makers from Ph, Lagos, Warri, Benin”
He further stated in his post that when he means head to head, he is saying head to head in all ramifications.
“when I mean head to head, I mean in Equipment, Storyline, Creativity, Funds, and endorsement of 1 million naira and up”
He challenged any Owerri-based individual who knows any skit maker and not a stand-up comedian that can fall in that category to mention such person under his comment section.
In response to his argument, in his comment section, an Owerri-based lady pointed out why it seems Owerri has no skit makers.
“Skit makers should move to Lagos cos that’s where they will get support and recognition, if you stay in your state even your people will not value you. Move to Lagos oh. Most of them are from the East but the environment can limit them. The only thing people value in Owerri is hotels, if you are a movie star and stay in Owerri it won’t work, entertainment level you should be in the right place, which tv channel go show you for Owerri or radio station will promote you and it will get to 5k people a day. Once Wazobia invites you be assured that over one million will be listening and will follow you sharp sharp”
