A group under the umbrella of Think Nigeria Project, TNP has condemned in strong terms the continuous spate of killings in the southern part of Kaduna State.
The group urged President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai to rise to its constitutional responsibility of protecting the lives and properties of the people.
National President, TNP, Abdulhamid Abdullahi Ikara and the Director Media and Publicity, Cyril Oparacha, in a statement, said the recent fresh attacks in Kaura Local Government Area of Southern Kaduna which according to them claimed 37 lives with several houses burnt, was shocking.
According to the group, the insecurity in Kaduna State is increasing, especially in Kajuru, Birnin Gwari, Zango Kataf, Chukun, Sanga, Jema’a and Kaura, stressing that urgent steps need to be taken by the authorities concerned to ensure sanity in the state.
The group called on the youth of Southern Kaduna to stop any form of violence but explore all avenues to sustain peace.
“We believe that justice and fairness is the genuine solution to societal conflicts.”
The group noted that due to several attacks in Kaduna State, many people have been displaced, some of whom took refuge in different locations.
