Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has again reiterated his administration’s determination to collaborate with the police to bring to book the perpetrators of last week’s killings.

Several persons were last week killed in Tor-Damisa village of Donga Local Government Council by suspected herders.

The Governor, who stated this on Wednesday while doling out relief materials to the affected victims in the community, vowed to go after the hoodlums with his last drop of blood.

Speaking through the chairman of the affected Local Government Council, Nashuka Ipayen, he urged the people of the council to remain calm as security operatives, according to him, had already swung into action.

He said the government had put in place relevant measures, which according to him, would halt future attacks on the community.

He said, “I feel very sad for this heinous act and I assure you that the culprits, when found, will face the full wrath of the law.”

Overwhelmed by the Governor’s actions, the traditional head of the community, Zaki Uma Ugondo pleaded with the Governor to assist the victims with farm input that would enable them to go back to their farms.

Narrating how all their agricultural seeds were burnt by the herders, he said embracing their farming occupation without government support would no doubt turn out to be a mirage.

Also throwing his weight behind the monarch, the President-General, Tiv Cultural and Social Association in Taraba, Joshua Ayagwa, pleaded with the governor to assist the victims with agricultural seeds.
