The Adamawa State Government on Monday launched a contributory pension scheme for its people.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri said the scheme which is operated in partnership with the Federal Government, is his administration’s strategy to ensure all residents of Adamawa State have access to needed preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services.

He said the scheme is designed to offer health services with sufficient quality and equitable delivery without subjecting the people to financial hardship.

“The fundamental objective of the scheme is to create a platform that pools resources to enable citizens of the state access healthcare without paying at the point of access,” Fintiri explained.

He said the Governing Board of the Adamawa State Contributory Health Management Agency is charged with providing strategic leadership of ensuring all residents of the state are enrolled under the health insurance scheme.
