Police in Anambra State have arrested a suspect who participated in the attack on Ajalli Police Station on September 30.

Recall that Ajalli Police Station in Orumba North was attacked by gunmen, and the station also looted by unidentified persons, during the reign of unknown gunmen, during the run up to the Anambra governorship election.

State police command’s spokesperson, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga told DAILY POST that one of the attackers was on Christmas day arrested by men of the command.

The suspect, Emmanuel Nwafor was apparently cruising with a motorcycle on Christmas Day, and the motorcycle is said to be part of the properties looted from the station.

Ikenga in a terse press statement said: “Emmanuel Nwafor “M”, age 25yrs. Address : Umuevee Ajalli Orumba North Lga .

“Arrested By Operatives Of Ajalli Division On 25th December 2021 . Suspect Was Found With One Of the exhibit motorcycles looted from Ajalli Police Station During The Attack By Hoodlums On 30th Sept. 2021.”

He said the suspect was already helping the police with useful information, adding that there have ascertained any connection yet between the suspect and the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
