The incoming state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, Omale Omale has cautioned members of the party against any form of corrupt practices.
Omale warned that members of the party in the state would not be shielded from any investigation during his tenure as chairman.
In a statement he signed, the outgoing Legal Adviser of APC in Benue State said members of the party are expected to be accountable.
He vowed to ensure that APC members respect the constitution of the party.
According to Omale: “Our APC shall not be used to defend any individual, individuals, or group(s) of persons whose personal conduct or activity is called to question by any authority whatsoever.
“Our Party under my watch as the incoming State Chairman upon the determination by the National Secretariat and or any other authority, must in addition to providing a credible alternative political platform to the Benue people to form a government that will be truly people based and shall in the main, engage the leadership of the Benue State government objectively, rationally and with credible and realistic people based programs and policies in a manner that the manifesto of our party provides and as advanced by the APC-led federal government.
“We shall not unduly overheat the polity unnecessary but shall mobilize our stakeholders in leadership to create an engaging party through purposeful activities that will enable our supporters and the Benue people to buy into our ideology of a truly progressive political party that offers more good than the PDP and other political parties in Nigeria.
“We subscribe to the natural policy of accountability by those who served and now offer themselves in public service. We shall be patient for service and respect the very constitution of the party that we are members of and seek to serve.
“We shall provide leadership for the services of our party with total allegiance to all but to no single individual, no matter how highly placed.
“We shall not use our contacts or closeness to any individual to abuse the very constitution and structures of our party.
“We shall not take advantage of our members by arm-twisting them for our personal gains. We shall not extort our party men who aspire to leadership.
“For us, the law must and shall always take its full course for the good of every one of us, whether APC or PDP or indeed any other political party whatsoever.”
