Former Kwara United coach, Samson Unuanel has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to hire a sound coach as Gernot Rohr’s replacement.

Pressure has mounted on the NFF to sack Rohr after the Nigeria put up an underwhelming performance against Cape Verde in their Qatar 2022 World Cup Group C final qualifier at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, last Tuesday.

However, with the NFF still searching for the German tactician’s replacement, Unuanel in a chat with Completesports.com stated that what the NFF Must appoint a coach with technical and tactician qualities to move the team forward.

“I am not really surprise that the NFF are searching for Rohr’s replacement considering how the team played against Cape Verde. With the array of players in our disposal, I don’t think Rohr should be finding it difficult to utilise them.

“Well, I just hope the NFF will hire a caoch that is technical and tactically sound to make the Super Eagles play quality football and qualify Nigeria for the 2022 World Cup.”
