Former Super Eagles forward, Victor Ikpeba, has suggested to manager Gernot Rohr, names of players to start for Nigeria against Cape Verde on Tuesday.

Nigeria will today take on Cape Verde in a World Cup qualifying tie at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

But Ikpeba wants Rohr to feature Odion Ighalo and Victor Osimhen together in the attack for the Super Eagles against Cape Verde.

Recall that Ighalo watched from the bench as Osimhen led the attack line for the Super Eagles in their 2-0 win against Liberia on Saturday.

Speaking on Monday Night Football Show, Ikpeba said, “I think Ighalo’s recall will be a wake-up call for the young lads in the Super Eagles.

“However, Gernot Rohr can decide to play both Ighalo and Osimhen in the attack due to their different features. One is tall and the other is strong on the ball due to his physical nature.

“The Super Eagles must score early enough to be able to control the possession of the game. This will also help to relax the nerves of the players if they score first [against Cape Verde].”
