Jack Grealish could reportedly be questioned as a witness in the Benjamin Mendy rape case.

The England ace who moved to the Premier League champions for a record-breaking £100million fee in August, was out partying with Manchester City teammate Mendy, 27, just hours before he allegedly attacked a girl.

Both players attended Chinawhite nightclub in Manchester, along with fellow City star Riyad Mahrez, back in August.

Mendy, 27, a World Cup winner with France, is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl at his Cheshire home later that evening. He is charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against three alleged victims between October 2020 and August 2021.

Neither Grealish nor Mahrez went to Mendy’s house on the night of the offence and there is no suggestion that either player is involved.

But police could interview Grealish in relation to their investigation, according to a report by The Sun.

According to the Sun, Grealish, 26, and Mahrez, 30, were seen at members-only nightclub Chinawhite in Manchester with Mendy on the evening of August 23.

It is alleged, in one of the allegations, that Mendy raped a 17-year-old girl in his house in the early hours of August 23.

A source told The Sun: ‘They started socialising at one place and carried on to a couple of different venues during the night.

The World Cup winner was remanded in custody ahead of a trial next year at Chester crown court on September 10.

Manchester City has also suspended the £52million left back, who signed from French side Monaco in 2017, pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.

A second man was also charged by police investigating allegations of sexual assault against Mendy.

A spokesman for Mahrez told the Sun: “Riyad is not a witness and isn’t being treated as one.”

All of the alleged attacks are claimed to have taken place at his home address on Withinlee Road in Prestbury, Cheshire.

Louis Saha Matturie, 40, who is described as an aide or ‘runner’ of Mendy’s, has been charged with four counts of rape, Cheshire Police said.

The pair will appear in court on November 15 before facing trial on January 24.

A spokesperson for Mahrez told The Sun: ‘Riyad is not a witness and isn’t being treated as one.’

Mendy is currently being held on remand at HMP Altcourse and is set to stand trial.
