Nigerian women have swung into action by convening a 40-day prayer meeting to help the nation out of its recent insecurity situation. 

The organization, Women Of Divine Destiny Initiative said the 40 days prayer meeting will also feature the production of a peace theme song and will be preceded by a charity feeding program for over ten thousand less privileged Nigerians. 


Kicking off on the 10th of August, 2021 at the Ballroom, Tropic Galleria, Abuja, the convener, Her Excellency, Mrs. Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha, in a statement signed by the Media Coordinator of the  programme, Abasiodu Idiong, called on Nigerians at home and abroad to be part of the Prayer Conference to intercede for the return of lasting peace in the country.

She said that the spate of insecurity in the country is causing serious disunity and something has to be done about it. 


The statement has it that the 40 day prayer session running from August 10 to September 18, 2021, will have the theme “Heal Our Land and Let There be Peace”,

Mrs Okorocha in the statement said the Prayer Conference is informed by the book of Jeremiah 29 verse 12, where God directed the people “to call upon Him and Pray to Him and He shall hear them”

Mrs Nneoma Ọkorocha said that during the prayer session, men and women from all walks of life in the 36 states of Nigeria and Diaspora will connect via zoom to pray for healing and peace in Nigeria.

Aside the opening day at the Ballroom, Tropic Galleria, Abuja, on the 10th of August 2021, the rest of the event will be virtual on Zoom with the details: Meeting Code 8785015480, and Password –  005218, 6:10 AM – 6:50 AM daily starting from August 11 to September 18, 2021. 

The high point of the prayer meeting will be a Peace theme song to be rendered by a Thousand (1000) standing choir group.

The event will be preceded by a charity feeding program for over ten thousand less privileged Nigerians.
