Major-General Hassan Ahmed of the Nigerian Army, who was killed by suspected kidnappers in Abuja on Thursday night, has been buried at Lungi Barracks Cemetery, Abuja.
DAILY POST had reported that Ahmed, who was recently appointed Director at Army headquarters, was shot dead in the Abaji area of Nigeria’s capital.

The development was confirmed in a statement on Friday by Brig.Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, an army spokesman.
According to a family member, the gunmen also abducted the wife of the slain soldier.
It was gathered that the couple were returning from Okene in Kogi State when they ran into an ambush.
