With the people of Nwangele Local Government Area, witnessing a black Friday as a faulty truck killed and injured people at the NKwomiri market, Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo has risen to ensure more lives are saved.
The Member of the House of Representatives whom the accident happened in his constituency said that against the report that about 20 persons died from the accident, only fiver persons in a tricycle (keke) which was hot by the trailer were confirmed dead, while others were injured.
The statement which was signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Dike Philip also has it that Hon. Ozurigbo has made deposits at the hospital where most of the victims were being treated, urging them to concentrate on saving lives and not money.
“Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna has called the matron of the hospital informing her to take in the wounded without requesting for a fee as saving lives is more important; in that manner he has also deposited some funds into the hospital account to ensure treatment is administered immediately to the wounded.”, the message reads.
He thanked everyone who took part in their rescue process as well as those who offered first aid to the survivors.
