The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has condemned the abduction of male students from Government Science secondary school, Kankara, Katsina State.

According to the Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, about 333 students are still missing from the boarding school after an attack on Saturday by armed bandits.

UNICEF in a statement on Monday called for the boys’ immediate release, describing the attack on schools as a violation of children’s rights.

The statement read: “We are deeply concerned about these acts of violence”.
