The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State Chapter, has urged all its members to remain calm and go about their lawful businesses and activities, saying the party will not succumb to the antics of moles, who want to tear PDP apart to benefit their cronies in rival political parties.

State Publicity Secretary of PDP, Ogubundu Nwadike, stated this in a release he issued on Thursday and availed Daily Nigerian Horn.

According to the release, Engr. Charles Ugwu remains state chairman of PDP in Imo State, adding that agents of destabilization cannot hold the party to ransom.

The release read:

“The attention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has been drawn to the news report that Court has stopped the Engr. Charles Ugwuh-led State Executive Committee of Imo PDP, purportedly citing an order of interlocutory injunction being bandied by the same disgruntled persons who have been acting as moles to create a situation of crisis in Imo PDP.”

“The Party is not unaware of a purported order of the Vacation Court of the Federal High Court, Port-Harcourt, which was a product of fraudulent and false information presented to the Court by the mischief-makers that have been seeking ways to destabilize the sustainable unity and peace of Imo PDP.”

The Party has since filed a motion for stay of execution of the interlocutory order, while actions are being expedited to get the substantive suit fully determined.”

“Consequently, we urge all members of the party to remain calm and go about their lawful businesses and activities as the Party will not succumb to the antics of moles, who want to tear Imo PDP apart to benefit their cronies in rival political parties.”

“Evidently, in spite of the slight distractions by very few aggrieved leaders of the Party, Imo PDP remains more united, stronger and more unshaken.”
