The number of discharged patients in Oyo State has risen to 17, The PUNCH reports.

This was as the state discharged three more patients on Tuesday following their recovery from the novel virus.

Governor Seyi Makinde, who made the disclosure via his verified Twitter handle, on Tuesday night, said the discharged patients tested negative twice for the virus upon treatment at the state isolation centres.

He wrote, “Three COVID-19 patients have received their second negative test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 17.

“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for two suspected cases came back positive. One case in Ibadan North and one case in Ibadan North West. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as at 8pm today is 67.”

The governor urged members of the public to report suspected cases of the virus or travellers from other states by calling the emergency lines stated on his Twitter handle and those listed on social media accounts and website of the state Health Ministry.
