An unidentified gunman on Tuesday shot and killed a young man popularly known as Italo in Owerri, Imo State.

The gunman reportedly shot Italo, who hailed from Anara, Isiala Mbano LGA at a bank located in Ikenegbu Layout at point-blank range.

Italo was first rushed to a nearby hospital in Ikenegbu Layout which refused to treat him owing to the absence of a police permit.

National Newsbreak gathered he was later rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri where he gave up the ghost.

There are different versions to Italo’s brutal end.

According to sources within the bank, the gunman requested Italo to surrender the money he withdrew from the bank which he vehemently objected to leading to the gunman releasing a volley of bullets on him.

Yet another version said the gunman traced the victim to the bank after he refused to release his own share of the proceeds of a business deal between them.
