A group of hoteliers in Imo State has called the attention of the state Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, to the outrageous bills its membeers have to pay and the sealing of hotels and other hospitality outfits in the state.

The hoteliers alleged that government workers involved in revenue collection in the state were about to make them close their businesses due to the outrageous bills they were usually levied.

Speaking after a meeting in Owerri on Thursday, Chief Nonso Chukwudinma, the Chief Executive Officer of Isis Hotels Limited, who spoke on behalf of others, said the situation was frustrating.

“The so-called workers do not have human faces. They operate like ‘agberos’ and give outrageous bills to hotel owners in the state, to the extent that most of the hotels, if not all, are on the verge of collapsing because of high illegal bills,” he said.
