A three-year-old boy, Chidalu Ike was on Tuesday abducted on his way from school in Atta community in Njaba council area of Imo State.

Head of vigilante services in Njaba council area, Chidi Nwamadu confirmed the incident to our correspondent in a telephone interview.

According to him, the incident happened around 3 pm immediately after the pupils dismissed from school at Central School, Atta near the Afor Atta Market.

It was learned that Chidalu, a native of Umuduru Egwedu Autonomous Community in Njaba Local Government Area, was kidnapped while walking home with his elder brother, Nnaemeka, when two suspected kidnappers accosted them.

It was further learnt that the abductors sent Nnaemeka, 10, to buy satchet water for them and as he went to buy it, they made away with the little boy.

Speaking with The Nation, the boy’s father, Mr. Alexander Ike, who could not contain his anxiety, appealed to the state government and security agencies to help bring back his son.
