Okorocha: Tribunal, aroma of democracy as Tribunal affirms victory

by OtownGist

Senator Rochas Okorocha, representing Imo West at the National Assembly, has said that the judiciary remained as an aroma of democracy. Okorocha spoke in Owerri, through his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, after the tribunal affirmed his 2019 election as Senator representing Imo West.

Okorocha’s emergence has been challenged at the tribunal by his opponents. Top among them, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Jones Onyereri, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Osita Izunaso among others. One of the controversial issues raised by the challengers was that the returning officer for the Imo west senatorial district election, Professor Innocent Ibeawuchi, declared Okorocha, a winner under duress.

And while members of the tribunal are apostles of Justice.
