9th Assembly Speakership: Isu lawmaker says Okigwe Zone owns position

The member Representing Isu in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Mrs Ngozi Obiefule, has said that the 9th Assembly Speakership should be zoned to Okigwe, as to give the people a sense of belonging.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday at the State House of Assembly complex Owerri, Obiefule stated that it is a misnormal to denial the people there right, Adding that the sharing of positions goes among the three Zones of the state, positing that no Zone should be left out in the distribution of positions.

According to her, if in any way the Speakership slot goes to Orlu Zone, as a lawmaker from that zone,”i have all it takes to mount the position, I’m the most qualified, because I know the rudiments, as a second timer I’m the House.

She noted that Speakership position is not a boys scout affairs, but an area were intellectual and experience play out, stating that the present 9th Assembly will be more of reasonable debate going by the different political party members that made the Assembly.

The Isu lawmaker expressed regret over the way Imo elites treat female members in the House, noting that Anambra state is a case study for other states in the country to emulate, as female members in Anambra State get Speakership position, where the men are there, calling on women to participate in politics and never shay way from active political participation.

Furthermore, she urge Widows never to give up, but to believe in themselves.
