Ahead of the 9th of March Gubernatorial election in Imo State, the United Progressives Party candidate Hon. Tony Nwulu’s political hurricane is gradually taking over the state with high profile endorsements backing him up.

Hon. Nwulu whose ingenuity at the House of Representatives has given many Nigerian youths political light via the Not-Too-Young-To-Run bill received members of the Wealthy Brethren Association of Nigeria at his Owerri residence as the group assured him of their support ahead of the election.

Speaking at the courtesy visit, the leader of the group, Comrade Uzooma Ihediohanma who is popularly known as Ihedioha said that they are prepared to commit their personal funds to ensure that Tony Nwulu emerges the next governor of Imo State, adding that the entire association is behind the Mbaise born politician.

Comr. Ihediohanma said that beyond being a youth, Hon. Nwulu has shown that he has what it takes to transform Imo State having made great exploits at the House of Representatives from far away Lagos State.

He added that they do not support failures or people who are not serious with their ambitions and believes that Hon. Nwulu has not only shown commitment to contest for the election, but will and zeal to win it in all ramifications.

Responding, Hon. Tony Nwulu thanked the group for choosing to support him, urging them to step out to change the narrative that youths are not ready to take over leadership in the country.

He said that previously the challenge used to be age and money, but the ‘Not Too Young To Run’ bill which he sponsored recently will ensure that youths can be involved at the mainstream politics in the country.

Hon. Nwulu assured the Wealthy Brethren Association of Nigeria that his emergence will place youths in positions of authority, charging them to remain focused and ensure that they deliver him in their respective wards.

“I believe that the Nigerian youths have come of age. At the engine room, you find youths doings a lot of things, but they are seldomly celebrated. That ends now. The youths must celebrate themselves, the youths must be celebrated”

“I’ve tried to create that space where young Nigerians will be at the table where issues concerning their future is being discussed. No more shall we have the old people decide our destinies after spending theirs”, he said.

Tony Nwulu who hails from Ezinihitte – Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, is presently the Member representing Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency of Lagos State at the Federal House of Representatives.

Also at the meeting were the Secretary of UPP in Imo State, Engr. Ben Ehirim; the State Party Chairman Hon. Innocent Njoku; Hon. Nwulu’s running mate Dr. Nnaemeka Onyeka Obiaraeri amongst others.
