2019: Group calls on Ndigbo’s to vote for survival of race

A pressure group under the aegis of “Eastern Peoples Front, has urged ndigbos across the country to ensure they collect their Permanent Voters Card PVC and vote for the interest of the survival of Igbo race come 2019 general election.

Disclosing to newsmen recently in Owerri after a meeting, the group National Coordinator/convener Elder Ken Emechebe, stated that for this country and ndi Igbo to grow into what they must be, and to work as Nigerians, there is need for restructuring.

He noted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has assured Nigerians that if elected into power come 2019, he must ensure the restructuring of the country to suite the six geo-political zones in the country for harmonious and development of the country.
Emechebe, pointed out that the PDP presidential candidate meant well for the Igbos in the clamour for restructuring, moreso, nominating an igbo man to be his running mate for the 2019 general election.

According to him, the general interest of Igbos should be protected, positing that a vote for the PDP and Atiku, would ensure the future and liberation nof igbos in the polity.

The group coordinator stated that their visit to Imo State is to sensitize and mobilize the people to vote as one people in the forthcoming election.

Giving an analysis of the total number of registered voters in the country, the convener of the group, said that out of 81.4 million registered voters in the country, 26.7 million are Igbo all across the country, noting that if Igbo can get all the number to vote to their side, Igbo can stilt any election in this country, particularly when people alleged that after the APC government of Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, governance of this country would go back to the South West.
Highlight of the meeting was the visit to HRM Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, among other traditional rulers from the five South East States, while Rt. Hon. Nnaemeka Maduagwu presided at the meeting.
