Emergency agency distributes relief materials to Ogun flood victims

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has commenced distribution of relief materials to over 1,800 households affected by the July 13, 2018, flash flood disaster in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

NEMA, in conjunction with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), through the Ministry of Environment, presented relief materials to first batch of 125 beneficiaries at the flag-off ceremony, held at Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, at the weekend.

The agencies have been collating victims’ names after Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibajo’s visit to disaster sites.

Director-General, NEMA, Engr. Yunusa Mustapha Mehaija, in his address, said the relief materials were meant to help victims return to normal live.
