The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Saturday said the Independent National Electoral Commission has issued CF001 forms to 41 aspirants who won the party’s state primaries held on October 6.
The issuance of the forms according to the party has put to rest the controversies over the outcome of party’s state primaries.
The party’s state Publicity Secretary, Jones Onwuasoanya, in a statement in Owerri, said that the forms were sent to the party chairman, Daniel Nwafor, who in turn, issued them to the candidates.
He said that the issuance of the forms was sequel to the adoption of the report of the Ibrahim Agbagbiaka electoral panel by the party’s National Working Committee.
According to the statement, Uche Nwosu, has been issued the form as the authentic APC governorship candidate in the state.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Rochas Okorocha, has said that the APC membership of the Senator representing Imo West (Orlu) senatorial district and governorship aspirant in the state, Hope Uzodinma, was in doubt.
He said, “Hope’s membership of APC in the state is in doubt to me. Hope and his political allies will never succeed in their bid to destabilise Imo APC.”
Okorocha, who spoke on Saturday through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, in Owerri, the state capital, noted that the APC would continue to adopt direct primary to choose candidates.
He said, “APC will prefer option A4 for the main election so that Nigerians can know popular politicians, who are in touch with their people and those whose politics begins and stops at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and on social media platforms.”
