A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential aspirant, Chief Bobby Tochukwu Ukadike stated that he has abandoned his Presidential ambition.

He said he has now opted for governorship as a result of the plight of Imo people who had suffered untold hardship in the last eight years.

He gave this disclosure after picking his interest and nomination forms on the platform of Freedom and Justice Party at its national headquarters, Abuja on Thursday.

He said the people called on him to abandon PDP and his presidential ambition, saying domestic problems bedevilling Imo people as a result of bad governance should be of concern rather than national leadership challenges.

“Originally, I have been a PDP Presidential aspirant, but my people called me to pick a form to contest for governorship.

“I cannot hear the voice of lamentations of my people and continue with my Presidential ambition, hence, I have to heed to their call.

“Having picked the intent and nomination forms, it is an indication that I have heard the clarion call of my people because as it is today, Imo state is in bad governance”, he said.

Stating reasons he chose Freedom and Justice Party, he said, “among the 91 political parties, I decided to chose this one because of its ideologies and I know this party is going places.”

He called on the Imo indegenes at home and diaspora to join forces to push out the present government out of power, stating that election time had always been an opportunity for those cheated by their leaders to act against them.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party, Dr. Breakforth Onwubuya has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the Electoral bill or risk being vetoed by the lawmakers.

He vowed that Freedom and Justice Party would lead the campaign towards ensuring that President Buhari’s signature was vetoed.
