As part of the Slush Global Impact Accelerator Program local Bootcamp being hosted by Heartland Incubation Hub in Nigeria to support Impact Entrepreneurs. We are excited to host Nina Martin and Tomi Kaukinen from the shortcut School of Startup School in Helsinki, Finland and Aino Piirtola, Head of Global Impact Accelerator.

Slush Global Impact Accelerator is an international program designed for entrepreneurs from selected emerging markets in partnership with the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and multiple partners globally.

The purpose is to support impact-driven start-ups and showcase exciting business opportunities in emerging markets, which are also vital for implementing the Agenda 2030 and solving complex challenges. In addition, the program focuses on strengthening the networks between the impact actors, engaging the Nordic community with the global impact entrepreneurs, and enhancing the mobilization of capital towards impactful businesses.

15 startups were shortlisted from over 160 competitive application and the impact Entrepreneurs and have been going through a series of workshops such as Impact Investment, Business Model and Lean Service creation.

Building Impact venture, Impact Modelling, Storytelling for Impact, Service design modelling,  and valuation are some of the contents that will be delivered during the program.

We at Heartland Hub are excited to host shortcut School of Startups  and the Head of Global Impact Accelerator.

The Shortcut school of startups Slush GIA is a series of boot camps in six pre-selected startups hubs from Emerging Markets including Heartland Incubation Hub in Nigeria, Fuse Catalyst in Rwanda, Innovation Center in Kosovo, South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. Its purpose is to deliver hands-on interactive workshops for local entrepreneurs during the local Bootcamp

Nina Martin: (be ‘kech Anticafé & Coworking Space) Social Entrepreneur, Mentor, Design Thinker

Nina is the Co-Founder and CEO of currently three organisations, including Berlin‘s first Anticafé & CoWorking Space: be‘kech. The award-winning space was launched in 2017 and has become an epicentre of all things social, entrepreneurial and cultural. With a background in Digital Film, New Media and Design Management (University of Huddersfield/ Aalto University)

Nina employs creative methodologies to support start-ups and NGOs alike in the fields of team management, conceptualisation, user experience, social impact metrics and prototyping pilots. Her experience comes from leading, documenting and consulting on projects empowering marginal groups of society in Finland, Lebanon, Germany, Mexico and South Africa among others.

Tomi Kaukinen

He is an ex-investment specialist turned serial entrepreneur. He knows best of both worlds and coaches the next generation of entrepreneurs on all the ins and outs of start-up investments. He has founded GTFO Ventures, Sportacam, Camment, and has scaled his businesses globally. He does public speaking and mentoring, workshops to help start-ups for instance on go-to-market strategies, fundraising and business development
