Youths of Nekede comprising of Umualum, Umudibia and Umuoma communities in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State under the aegis of Nekede Federated Youths forum have reiterated their readiness to attract the attention of the Federal Polytechnic Council, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, Rescue Government of Imo State, Minister of Education and the Presidency to effect justice in the ongoing screening of qualified academia for the position of Rector, Federal Polytechnic Nekede after the second tenure of Dr (Mrs) Celestina Njoku expires in September 2018.

The Youths made the call recently during a courtesy call on the three traditional rulers of Nekede in Owerri West Local Government Area, HRH Eze Morrison Eke Ph.d, HRH Eze Godwin Merenini [MBA] and HRH Eze Dr. Steve Agumanu in their respective palaces where they expressed their grievances.

Briefing newsmen during the visit, Comrades Chinedu Ejiogu Shanka, Chukwuma Ibekwe and Tony Asika Uneze who led the delegation pointed out that the purpose of their visitation to the leaders of Nekede at home and in the Diaspora is to fight a just course aimed at protecting the interest of the youths and avert their further marginalisation to foster absolute peace in Nekede.

The youths maintained that for the period of 40 years, the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede was established in their land, no indigene of the host community has assumed any principal position in the institution where they have a lot of professionals in the academic circles, stressing that justice delayed is justice denied.
