Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha has directed that henceforth no town service vehicle operator should charge more than fifty Naira per drop in Owerri Municipality and its environs, as any defaulter caught will be made to face the wrath of the law.
The Governor further directed the Commissioner for Transport to release fifty ITC buses to ply as town-service temporarily, as a result of the on-going branding, fleeting and tracking of most commercial vehicles in the State by the Ministry, which is aimed at ensuring safety of passengers and their goods.

A release by the Commissioner for Transport, Prince Lasbery Okaforanyanwu says the governor’s directives are in line with the Urban Renewal Programme of the Rescue mission Administration, to decongest Owerri Municipality and sanitize the transport sector in the State.
