Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Chief Chimazuru Nnadi, 2019 Federal House of Representatives aspirant for Owerri Federal Constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that with the way things are retrogressing in Imo, APC will most likely suffer its worst nightmare.

In a Telephone chat, the renowned human right activist cum social critic predicted an imminent leadership crisis in Imo APC which according to him will rob the party of any opportunity or likelihood of retaining power in the state come 2019.

According to him, besides the fact that people of the state are fed up with the style of governance, caricature and ill-performance of the APC led government in the state, the imminent crisis will give Imolites more reasons to reflect and decide to ditch the party from governance at any state level for good.
He further stressed that APC as presently constituted in the state is made up of bunch of sycophants who he said are only interested in achieving their selfish political goals rather than ensuring general good governance and delivery of dividends of democracy to the people adding that, “Okorocha and his goons want to monopolize the party as if it is a personal structure”.

Nnadi also posited that the ego and selfish interest of Governor Rochas Anayo Okorocha whereas he wants to impose his son in-law and daughter as his successors against the wishes of the Imo people and most especially against the wishes of the state party hierarchy is another reason why the party will suffer imminent election doom.

The Ihiagwa, Owerri West LGA born business mogul also identified what he described as the overzealous allegiance cum loyalty of some APC House Of Assembly members to the incumbent governor, who according to him have no regard or responsibility to their duties as members of a hallowed chamber, as also part of the things that will contribute to the downfall of the party in the forthcoming contest.

Oblong pointed out that with the already existing friction and daggers drawn stance between Governor Okorocha and his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere, Sen Ifeanyi Araraume, Sen. Osita Izunaso, among other leaders of the party in the state, it will only take the grace of God for the acrimony to yield any good result for the party.

He equally maintained that any thought of the possibility of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the current State Chief of Staff taking over power from his father-in-law in 2019 is good as dead stressing that Imolites have vowed to see that such would never happen.

“How do you expect a political party to win election when the leaders are at loggerheads with each other? A situation where one particular leader wants to lord himself over others just because he sees himself as a demi god.

“No party can thrive in such a situation where is there is high disregard for the constitution of the party. You can’t just sit and coerce the people with financial inducements to endorse who you like even at the detriment of the survival of the party.
“With all these things in place, one does not need a soothsayer to see that APC is on a one way path to failure. What we should be waiting for now is for its final burial rites come the 2019 elections.

“No doubt, the PDP has had its fair share of crises, but the party has weathered the storm and is well positioned with rejuvenated party structures and a digital exco to reclaim power in the state. All we are asking is for Imolites to renew their mandate for PDP which today remains the only restructured, credible and well organized political party in Nigeria to salvage them from the mess of APC leadership in the state.

“In fact I don’t see any party in Imo as democratic, strong, viable and transparent as PDP and that is why i am riding on the platform of which i’ve been a member of since 1999 to aspire to offer effective people oriented representation, quality leadership and full delivery of dividends of democracy to my people via the federal house come 2019.” Oblong said.
