Information has emerged that Imo State Governor, His Excellency Anayo Rochas Okorocha is against the Imo APC party stakeholders meeting scheduled to take place on Sunday March 18, 2018 at Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri.
It was gathered that Okorocha has demanded from the APC State Party Chairman, Chief Hillary Eke to use Imo Government House as the venue of the meeting. Chief Eke was said to have refused to grant the Governor his request, positing that such a venue would affect the general attendance of the meeting. When Governor Rochas failed in his bid to convince Chief Eke on why the meeting should hold at Imo Government House, he was said to have demanded outright cancellation of the meeting, a request which was further declined.
This new posturing of the Imo APC Party Chairman is said to have delighted many APC Stakeholders who are of the opinion that the Party Chairman is now asserting himself as being in charge of the Party in the State.
As at the time of filing this report, it was not clear if Governor Rochas Okorocha and his supporters would be part of the meeting.
Those expected at what should no doubt be a very explosive meeting include: Governor Rochas Okorocha, his Deputy, His Excellency Prince Eze Madumere, APC National Organizing Secretary, Distinguished Senator Osita Izunaso, Senator Ifeanyichukwu Ararume, Hon. Minister, Prof. Anwukah Anwukah, Senator Ben Uwajumogu, Imo State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim, BoT Member of APC and Executive Director of NSITF, Hon.
