I felicitate with you because it is neither in our own strength nor in our powers that we were able to witness yet another special gift of a new year.

2017 has gone and can never be returned for whatever reason since that will be changing the natural law of time. It is true 2017 had its own challenges crowned with what most people described as the worst economic downturn in the history of our beloved State and Nigeria at large.

One thing was sure, our people were able to withstand that daunting challenge and today, we are on the path of recovery. It was a rare show of industry, resilience and enterprising spirit of our people.

Truly, we cannot change the hand of time. There were most of us who might have felt frustrated following their inability to achieve their set goals. My brothers and sisters do not dwell in your seeming failure. What is important is to learn from our past mistakes and never to remain on the floor. Get up and fight! Get fired up!! Great men also failed a thousand times but never missed their goals at the end of the race. “I therefore advise you to be like the time, if you want to beat the time! Be disciplined and get even more determined as you work hard to reach your mark by learning new ways of doing things with requisite skills.
