In Obedience to the holy scriptures in thanksgiving to The Lord, the Chapel of Praise of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Ecclesiastical Province of Owerri in Lake Malinda, Achi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State, the country home of the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, earlier today held its maiden annual Harvest and thanksgiving service.

The Deputy Governor of Imo State called on Christians to lead a life of giving, saying there is reward for every good work. He however hammered on the need for Christians to come to the knowledge that every good gift comes from God and that show of gratitude for every good deed opens door of blessings.

He therefore described harvest of in gathering as a very important moment in life of Christians to come to God in thanksgiving for his blessings upon his children. He reminded the congregation that those who follow the principle of God, which bothers on sacrifices, have always lived above board whatever the circumstance.

He praised God for his abundant blessings upon him and his family, promising to always strive to do his will.

Delivering the sermon of the day with the theme; Harvest of Divine Superlative Favour, Rt. Reverend Emmanuel Madubuike, Bishop of Anglican Communion, Diocese of Ikeduru called on Christians to leave a life of gratitude through obedience to God’s commandments, assuring them of greater blessings citing Genesis chapter 28 verses 1 to 14.

Bishop Madubuike also charged Christians to give generously, saying the principle of giving is the easiest way to riches. Quoting from I Corinthians 9:6 to 15; “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously”, admonishing Christians to always be ready to make sacrifices, saying that every good thing comes with sacrifice.

The Chaplain of the Chapel of Praise, Ven. Dr. Sunday Iherue said the resolve of the Chapel to host its maiden annual Harvest is to thank God for His mercies and manifold blessings upon the members of the Chapel of Praise in health, prosperity and realization of aspirations.

In the same vein, the Chairman of Harvest Committee, Barr Osita Nwosu in his testimony said: “God has been working wonders in the lives of the members of Chapel of Praise. It is in recognition of God’s blessings that we came together with our Chaplain who God has been using as a strong vessel to show gratitude to Him in thanksgiving.
