Mr. & Miss Face of the World pageant will be taking place on the same day and venue with United Nations Fashion Week and Awards according to the Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George, head of Face of the World Organization.

The two which are supposed to take place differently has the former billed for November 28 to December 3, 2016 and the later which is billed of October 20 to 23, 2016 moved forward to then hold on the same date with the former.

Speaking on the merger, Hon. Buchi George said the main reason is to cut cost on the side of the attendees who include designers, models and other guests who are expected to make it to Dubai twice in less than 40 days.

“We want to make it easier for everyone; for them and for us. If the first one is a success and the second one fails because of poor attendance, it won’t make sense at all, so our team had to take the decision to ensure we get the best from the two events.

“We have had talks with the designers and models and they are all pleased with the decision which most of them even influenced. Everyone should save the new date, November 28 to December 3, 2016”, he said.

He however agreed that merging the two events is another big work because the entire team will have to put up double effort to make things work and they are surely working on making it happen.

“It will be a lot of work, but I believe we have a team that can handle that. We have assembled people from across the globe; great minds that can strategize and implement perfectly no matter the pressure. We are capable and we are ready for the world by November.

“The visions of the events are still intact and nothing will be changing at all. The United Nations Fashion Week and Awards still remains what it is and designers, models and awardees warming up for it, while Mr. & Miss Face of the World pageant is still running” the United Nations Ambassador said.

About 30 great achievers selected from around the world will be honoured at the United Nations Fashion Week and Awards which is tagged ‘The Gulf Edition’ and expected to also feature fashion exhibition; gala, ball and dinners; live charity concerts; super model search, pattern/sketches challenge and after fashion party, will be kicking off on the 20th of October, 2016, rounding off three days after on 23rd at Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
