The All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, Imo State has further thorn to shreds as a new faction led by Dr D C Iwuagwu has emerged.
The faction which held it’s maiden meeting in Owerri Wednesday, September 14, 2016, said it decided to speak up because the current state executive led by Barr Ezeobi is being remote controlled by Gov Rochas Okorocha.
“Okorocha is of the All Progressive Congress, APC”

He said the Ezeobi led APGA is also incompetent, inept and intolerant of contrary opinion.

Leader of the new faction, Dr Iwuagwu, who spoke to journalists in Owerri,  said Barr Ezeobi has ran the party aground causing it to lose it’s glory, formidability and grassroots reach which gave it victory in 2003, 2007 and 2011 governorship elections in the state.

He said it was unheard of that APGA could only score 25,000 votes in the 2015 governorship poll stressing that after the disastrous showing the Ezeobi EXCO has further worsened the fate of the party with it’s unhidden and undisguised subservience to Gov Okorocha.

According to him, it is shocking and greatly embarrassing that amid the many atrocities of the APC government in the state, APGA EXCO has turned it’s face the other way instead of empathizing and speaking up for the beleaguered masses.

Against the backdrop of this perceived indocility, Dr Iwuagwu announced that the faction which will be known and addressed as The Imo APGA LEADERSHIP FORUM, has decided to be holding regular meetings, expanding in scope and reach, within the confines of the party constitution.
He said the forum is appealing to other like minds in the party to join the struggle to salvage the party in the state.

Similarly, he called on all leaders at state, local government and ward levels to brace up for the struggle to reclaim the party from stranger elements planted to kill and bury the party in the state.
