The Imo State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ led by Sir Innocent Igwe has sanctioned the state correspondents chapel for what was tagged indiscipline conduct against the union.

Resolutions reached by 22 chapels in the state after a meeting held Tuesday at the NUJ secretariat in Owerri, the state capital, the congress frowned at the recent actions of the correspondent chapel led by  Athan  Agbakwuru  which were done to portray the union in bad light before the unsuspecting members of the public.

The Congress frowned at the way and manner, the correspondents chapel failed to treat an internal matter with respect and decorum but rather chose to go public in painting the union black and a way which would repudiate its esteemed reputation before the members of the public.

 It condemned a letter said to have be emanated from the correspondents chapel, describing their allegations there in as malicious and very untrue. It was later resolved that the suspension of the state correspondents chapel will be communicating to the national and zonal bodies of NUJ, warning the members of the public not to deal or transact  any business with the said chapel.
