Fresh crisis has been recorded in the lmo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC over who controls the leadership of the party against the 2019 general elections.

Also similar incident happened at Ngor Okpala recently where the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere was the victim.

Speaking to newsmen in Owerri a leader of the party in the state, Comrade Andrew Nmegwa accused lmo state chairman of the party, Chief  Hillary Eke of masterminding the crisis because of his desperate plan to install his crony as Okorocha’s successor come 2019, describing the agenda as an impossible task.

Comr. Nmegwa also alleged that the state chairman had unilaterally removed all his perceived enemies from their various positions in the state thereby creating internal rift in the party, whereas it was the time party should be preparing for 2019 consolidation as it affects every other positions not only the governorship. He maintained that while the deputy governor was harassed by the acclaimed Eke led loyalists of the party in Ngor Okpala, because of the illegal removal of the LG party chairman, Hon. Okey Azuonwu, the wife of the governor was equally humiliated by another dissident faction he planted in Ezinihitte trying to dislodge the strength of the party to the detriment of the governor. “It is quite unfortunate that the governor does not know that Chief Hillary Eke and his team are not working for him and his interest. I tell you, he will give Rochas a surprise package in 2019. What happened in 2015 is just a tip comparing what is in the offing. There is an underground project the man is packing and after destabilizing all the organs, then the people will know where he is going”.

According to him, “We are baffled by the Eke’s desperation to foist his men in various strategic positions in the party against the provisions of the constitution of APC, when put side by side with the various charges which border on subsisting anti-party activities during the last elections. Probably the desperation is to run away from the certainty or day it is mentioned against him”. The embittered Nmegwa further noted that if the governor refuses to checkmate Eke and his “dogs” at various LGs. the height or sabotage that will befall the party in 2019 will be unprecedented, insisting that the party is almost dead and  in comatose, and infected in the hands of the Ezinihitte Mbaise politician.
