The DG who made this passionate call in her office during a chat with newsmen disclosed that the call has become necessary in view of the obvious fact that the government alone cannot shoulder the enormous burden of caring for the vulnerable and physically challenged members of the state  particularly at this time of unprecedented revenue shortfall.

Mrs Eke argued that the administration having conceived and brought into life the noble idea of Imo Foundation played the role governments are expected to play, stressing that Imolites as a way of exhibiting love for their state and the poorest of the poor owed it as a duty to stand up to be counted as partners in progress.

She stated that the administration had committed enormous resources toward rendering medical and material assistance to disadvantaged people in the state, stressing that though a lot had been achieved, much more still needed to be done in the two critical areas.

Mrs Eke pointed out that the financial assistance of the people no matter how little could prove decisive in the foundation’s quest to take its activities to the next level, noting that with more support, more of the vulnerable in the state would be made to smile as envisioned by the Governor, Rochas Okorocha and his wife Ugo Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha.

The DG explained further that the foundation under her has seriously and passionately pursued the cardinal objective for which the foundation was established, stressing that with the level of dedication of those working with her, including the volunteer medical professionals, a lot would be achieved under her.

She was also grateful to the governor and wife for their steadfast and unwavering support which had justified her position that the foundation is the window through which the Rescue Administration would be assessed, adding that with their regular assistance the foundation ranks high in the delivery of its services.
