The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has appealed to the good people of the State to partner with the Rescue Mission government in its effort to make Imo a producing State by investing in the State.

Imo Deputy Governor made this remark yesterday at the occasion of commissioning a solar powered Information and communication Technology (ICT) Center  donated by Nigerian-German and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Emma Onyeali through a Non-Governmental Organisation, Behinderte hiffe Nigeria C.V at Amankuta Community Primary school.

Speaking through his representative, Chief Marcon Nlemigbo, Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, he showered encomium on Mr. and Mrs. Onyeali for their consistency in remembering home despite having lived abroad for many years.

Speaking further he used the forum to urge other good people of Imo State to come home and invest while the government is making frantic effort to building a productive base for State, saying the government will welcome any partnership with her good people both those at home and in diaspora for the uplift of the State.

He said the facility will connect Amankuta-Mbieri to the world as it will also help in research and in exchange of ideas. He also described the effort of the German based couple as encouraging and as a complementing effort to the government of Imo State led by Owelle Rochas  Okorocha.

While stressing the need to look inward and to rely less on oil money and Federal allocation, he maintained people should use their ingenious gift to begin to invent means through which the State and Nigeria could be made better.

He used the opportunity to  call on the people to continue to support Governor Okorocha in his effort to make Imo a producing State especially at this time that the economy is at its lowest following the dwindling oil price at the international market.

Speaking earlier on behalf of the Eze Elect of Amankuta autonomous community, Emmanuel Nwachi and the entire members of the community, the President General of Amankuta autonomous community, Chief Isaac Dike speaking on behalf on behalf of the people Amankuta-Mbieri  had thanked Governor Okorocha and his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere for their five star performance in the last dispensation.

Speaking further, Chief Isaac Dike appealed to Imo Deputy Governor to help them procure more computers to make it up to 20 so as to enable them make it a WAEC Exam Center since the centre has five desk top computers, a photocopying, binding and other office equipment.

The high point of the occasion was the commissioning of the project and the cutting of the ribbon for the formal opening of the ICT center with e-library by the Deputy Governor of Imo State ably represented by Chief Marcon Nlemigbo. Others who graced the occasion were Special Assistant to the Governor on Security (Owerri Zone), Mr. Princwill Nnawuihe, Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers, Mbieri and and many others including the people of Amankuta who thronged to the venue of the programme to cheer the occasion.
