There are now indications that Imo State born frontline comedian, Mc Bannana Mouth is now trekking, having burnt out his car for the campaign that brought Gov. Rochas Okorocha into office for the second term.

The comedian who was a conspicuous figure during the campaigns events and also a defender of the cause on the social media has recently been turned into a laughing stock by his colleagues who supported the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], during the election.

They have so far described the comedian as one of them since he has nothing to show for all his struggles during the election.

With Governor Okorocha toeing the same part he took in 2011 to skip the office of the Special Adviser [SA] on Entertainment which was prominent during his predecessor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim’s regime, hopes for MC Bannana Mouth being rewarded for his inputs have been quashed and the comedian at the moment will have to settle for the best he can get which is ‘trekking for Governor Okorocha’.

The Mbaitoli born comedian was tipped as the leading contender for the post of SA on Entertainment alongside others who were secretly lobbying for the position, with many people on the social media already speculating that he had been given the post until Governor Okorocha opted for the committees which letter gave better to the commissioner designates and appointed SAs in the present cabinet.

This is simply a repeat of what happened in 2011 when the likes of Kelly Handsome, Prince Chinedu Nwadike, Ugo Stevenson and other top entertainers were abandoned by the People’s Governor which the position that should have been used for their compensation left vacant for the entire four years of his first reign as Imo State Governor.

So far, only the likes of Nkiru Sylvanus who has been a visible in the government for day one and who was also made the Acting Director General of the Imo Film Academy which is yet to make any productive impact and Prince Chinedu Nwadike who has headlined almost all government in-house and public gospel events, none of these entertainers has been engaged by the government in any way.

MC Bannana Mouth’s woes could also affect Governor Okorocha next time he would be needing the services of entertainers. He might have people jumping to his money, but not really true supporters of his cause.
