Former governorship candidate in Imo State, Elder (Dr.) George O. Ibeatuche (JP), has stressed the need for the Federal and State Governments to make adequate financial provisions in establishing various welfare schemes whose services would enhance the social and economic well-being of rural based youths and jobless school leavers in our society.

He gave the assurance that the implementation of this scheme will help to provide avenues for establishing viable cottage industries and agro-based projects whose functional services will provide gainful employment for our numerous job seekers.

Elder Ibeatuche stated this while briefing newsmen on the celebration of this year’s African Youth Day Celebration. He observed that numerous African Countries including Nigeria are naturally blessed by the Almighty God with various vegetations and development-oriented potentials which if well harnessed would boost massive food production and also accelerate productive industrialization which would go a long way in revamping the growth of the National, State and Rural Economy.

The former governorship candidate disclosed that his God-given vision in sustaining the welfare of jobless youths, indigent widows and needy individuals had already compelled him to using his Rural Development Foundation to organize various seminars during which the Central Bank of Nigeria (Owerri Branch), the National Directorate of Employment (N.D.E) in Imo State and other credible agencies delivered lectures, adding that several beneficiaries from these seminars had acquired relevant experience which had enabled them to embark on revenue yielding ventures.

He also attributed the various economic hardships in Nigeria to escalating corruption brought in by corrupt government officials and politicians who are spiritually bankrupt. He announced his plans to organize another seminar in partnership with the National Directorate of Employment (N.D.E.) in Imo State which will focus on equipping unemployed school leavers, indigent widows, pensioners and other needy individuals with the needed professional expertise to embark on various productive ventures to enhance their progressive future.

He described the fear of God as the greatest human asset for progressive achievement in life, hence he cautioned all and sundry to yield their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ to sustain their good relationship with God.
