Comr. Hardy who had earlier called on Imo artistes to abstain from any form of electoral violence said the conduct of Imo artistes in the election shows they have come of age.
He cited previous cases when artistes would be used by politicians to raise malicious songs against their opponents and in some other cases, artistes have been seen at the forefront on electoral violence and other mal practices that follow it. He said “This simply shows artistes have come to know their place in the society. We are simply like prophets, we don’t take sides especially when that side will belong to a political party. We are Imolites and all our fights will be for the benefit of humanity and not any specific group or persons”
He called on artistes around the state to keep up with that maturity to see where it can take them.
Comr. Chinedu Hardy Nwadike also hailed the major players in election especially Independent National Electoral Commission for their expertise in conducting a relatively peaceful election throughout the federation.
He then congratulated Governor Owelle Rochas Okorochaon his record victory, calling on other parties to play according to the rules for the benefit of Imo State.
“Imo State will never boil because of one man and nobody’s blood is worth the ambitions of any politician in the state. Anyone who is not satisfied should head to the court and not the streets.” Hardy said.
He then charged Governor Okorocha to live up to the Change slogan of the All Progressives Congress by adopting programmes that will transform the state’s economy. He also pleaded with him to remember that Imo Artistes are still Imolites by putting them in his plans for the next four years.
He then prayed that God will grant Gov. Okorocha the wisdom and grace to steer the ship of the state in a way that will bring greatness to Imo State.
