Gospel singer, Maureen Onyekachi Ihekuna aka Maureen Sings has declared the surprised blessings she has received in 2014 saying that she got more than what she bargained for.

She said everything has changed within less than 12 months and she can’t just help but always thank God for all the miracle she has received.
“I wanted to record just a single this year but everything became bigger than I expected. Maybe I didn’t dream that much but God picked me up from where I was and now I am a better person.
I ended up recording two singles; I released an album and my video will soon hit TV stations around the country” She stated.
Maureen who sang the popular Imo Anthem was also nominated for Nigerian International Gospel Music Awards [NIGMA] in 2014 and she has become a household name among gospel music lovers especially in Imo State.
Having spent two years as a vocalist with the Imo State Government House Band, she believes that her life is a testimony and that she owes that to God. She also said that since her album titled ‘Grateful I am’ was released, there have been testimonies from people while her ministrations have also been another life changing channel for people.
“So far, 2014 is the best year of my life and musical career because suddenly I can hear my songs everywhere and my horizon has been expanded from someone who was just a girl to that of a gospel artiste who is known around the country and beyond.
“I say this because when I lost out in Destiny Child Gospel Music Competition Season 2 in 2013, I felt it was the end for me. I felt I was no longer good enough for music and somehow I wanted to end it. I came into 2014 with a low spirit but look at me now, God has lifted me high” she added.
Maureen Sings debut video which is for her hit track ‘Eze Mo’ was shot months back in Lagos by Akin Alabi Films. The video which is already on YouTube will find its place in TV stations around the country by next year, according to the singer.
