The Methodist youths in the Diocese of Owerri have concluded their 17th annual convention on Monday, August 18, 2014.
The event which kicked off on Thursday, August 14, 2014 with a welcome service presided over by the Cathedral Circuit Presbyter, Very Rev. Alex Onyeanula at Cathedral of Unity Church, Off MCC/Uratta road witnessed other powerful ministrations by anointed men of God within and outside the church.

The convention tagged Cathedral 2014 with the theme: ‘Unto a Perfect Man’, according to some  delegates of the convention, they described the just concluded Convention as  the best they have attended so far with most of them eulogizing the planning committee led By Bro Chinedu nwadike and diocesan executives for putting up such masterpiece.
Speaking for the Central Working Committee, the Chairman, Bro. Chinedu Hardy Nwadike thanked the Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev Dennis Mark for his support and encouragement during and after the programme, comparing his fatherly love to none.
Bro Nwadike hailed the contributions of the Diocesan Youths’ Work Coordinator Rev. Ndubuisi Gbaruko,Very Rev. Dr. Goddis and other convention ministers who include Rev. Sule Ayegba, Rev Chibuzor Ejagba, Evang. Shalom Onwuka, Rev. Eme Ejibe, Pst. Yahaya Dingamaji, Pst. Chidi Courage and others.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the convention on Monday, Rev. Ndubuisi Gbaruko charged the youths to uphold the theme of the convention ‘Unto a Perfect’ as well as Methodist Church Nigeria Conference theme ‘Let my people move forward’ to make their lives better for their families and country.
He urged the youths to live a righteous life as they walk out of the convention, putting everything they have learnt to practice to attain perfection in Christ.
The convention also saw Cathedral Circuit dethrone 2012 and 2013 Best Circuit Award winners, Orji Circuit to win the title for the year 2014.
Mbieri Circuit came second, while Orji came third ahead of Isiekenesi and Wesley Circuits.
Bro. Nwadike who is also the Diocesan Vice President hailed the president of the fellowship, Bro. Obum Nwodo for leading  a united executive to the convention, urging the entire executive to follow the success of the convention to achieve greater things for God, the fellowship and Methodist Church Nigeria.
According to the Committee, the next convention which comes up in 2015 will be hosted by Orji Circuit.
